NAVIANCE and College Applications
Have you tried Naviance……??
Naviance is an online portfolio system adopted by SUSD for students to complete their Educational Career Action Plan (ECAP). Students can enter the courses they are taking in Naviance under “Course Planner”; take a career inventory at “Career Interest Profiler” and investigate colleges in “College Search”. Log on today (student number and birthdate) and give it a try! The website is http://connection.naviance.com/desertmhs

Please open the file below titled College Application for instructions on applying to in-state and out-of-state colleges and universities.
Also, please open the file below titled Recommendation Materials to help your counselor with your recommendation!
College Planning!!
This message is primarily for Juniors, but can apply to any student who is thinking about planning for college and visiting colleges. Please open the word document below that is entitled Planning for College. You will find useful information on the process of planning for college in this document and I hope it will answer many of the questions that you may have. Of course, I am always willing to answer your questions and help you one-on-one. Just email, call, or come in and make and appointment with me so that I can help you. Please also use the following website to visit schools from the comfort of your own home: http://www.campustours.com/

SAT/ACT Registration Information
Have you registered for the ACT and SAT?  College bound students should take these tests in the spring of their junior year so that they will be ready to apply to the college of their choice in the fall of their senior year. Students go online to register for these tests at www.actstudent.org or www.collegeboard.com.  Testing dates are listed online, in your school planner and on the DMHS counselor’s websites. Registration deadlines are 5 weeks before the test dates, so enroll TODAY for the upcoming spring dates.
